About

Theo began shooting his first 8mm short films in middle school.  Through high school he continued his film and photography studies, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout with a documentary film project.  He was also an all-state football player and captain of his football team.

While attending Bucknell University, Theo co-founded the school’s first student film production company, directing shorts while orchestrating the University’s first annual film festivals.  His academic endeavors culminated in Bucknell's first interdepartmental major in Cinema Studies, eventually leading to the current University's film department.

Theo’s directorial feature debut, “Fifty Pills,” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and stars Lou Taylor Pucci, Kristen Bell, Jane Lynch, Eddie Kay Thomas, and Michael Pena.  The film was distributed internationally and enjoys a continual run on cable tv.

For his first feature screenplay, “Broken Jaw Remorse,” Theo won top honors for best screenplay at the Williamsburg International Film Festival.

He recently directed his second feature, "Americons" which opened nationally in AMC theaters in 2015.

Theo’s an avid guitarist, cook, sailor, and photographer.  He was married in Greece to jewelry designer Daria de Koning and resides between Brooklyn, NY and Silver Lake, CA.
